Max Azria returns School to Cool with Classic Academic Looks
Max Azria reads the economic tarot cards like no other designer; the BCBG Fall 2006 Collection from Olympus Fashion Week mixes schoolmarm charm with sophisticated and sexy dark layering. Fashion players of all demographics want more value and Max Azria delivers. With poplin dresses and jersey gowns in black, chocolate, and rust, that work well and play better.

Azria likes the flair, too - rich burgundy leather handbags, ballerina eyewear, and patent boots sharpen the looks. The spectacles, in particular, harken back to simpler times, when a gaze above the rims from the teacher meant staying after school for extra curricular activities. Would that one might catch such a gaze from these amply-garbed but feather-light souls in cashmere and silk. Azria knows what we are thinking even before we do - in a world of uncertainty, a little bookishness goes a long way.
